Friends from school, Flashfires began making waves in and around the London music scene, playing shows with established acts like The Hoosiers, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Ash and the Subways.
Received radio airplay on both of the UK’s biggest stations, BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2, for their songs Manshark and Shy. Their single Shy lead Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley to comment ‘Much promise me thinks’, while their live performances are attracting a loyal fan base who are getting the feeling they may be part of something big here.
Made their first trip across the Atlantic in 2013 to record at Brian Wheat’s (Tesla) multi-million dollar studio in Sacramento. So impressed was Wheat with the strength of their songs, as well as the incredible vocal talent of Gonzato, he signed to manage the band. Such faith in the band was demonstrated when Wheat brought legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page to a Flashfires show in London, who was duly impressed by Roskilly’s style of play.
